Out of the Mouths of Babes:  Children Who Remember Past Lives

Just where are these extraordinary children who remember what we as adults often do not?  They are everywhere.  They are in all cultures and all countries.  They go to your schools and your churches.  They live just around the corner from you… and they are in your kitchen eating your cereal!  And they are talking—-but are you listening?  With an open mind and an open heart we have the amazing opportunity to “en-courage” them and fill them with the sense they are believed and accepted for their True, Authentic Selves.  Not just the little self in a little body but the Big Self… that infinitely complex, Timeless Self with many facets, only one of which may be physically visible to us now.

You may be a “believer” or maybe your mind is just open a crack
maybe the crack occurred when a young son or daughter still in diapers said something so mind-blowing that your world shifted and you had to re-organize your vision of reality… something like “Remember when I used to be your Mommy?”  Or “When I was big…”  A statement made with such simplicity and sincerity and as matter-of-fact as requesting another glass of milk.  That’s exactly what happened to me.  And I knew that in that next moment, my response would largely determine how my child would forever view me… as well as himself…

And so, this is an evening of stories shared with me by parents, grandparents, teachers, childcare workers… and the children themselves and is for anyone with a desire to understand from whence we came and towards what are we all headed.  This talk is about developing trust. ..about how to open the door to get a precious glimpse of a child’s True Authentic Self… how to ask the right questions if a memory comes up… and how not to slam the door in the face of a child’s desire to connect with you in the most profound way! Because… what if you told someone who you truly were and they didn’t believe you???

When Cheryl was born her father bought her mother a copy of “The Search for Bridey Murphy” to read in the hospital.  That book (which became a bestseller) exposed the general population at that time to the concept of reincarnation as we know it.  She laughs that “thus began her lifelong fascination with the subject!”  A Certified Hypnotherapist specializing in Integrated Imagery, she has studied with pioneers in the Past Life Regression field such as Delores Cannon, Roger Woolger and John Amoroso and (in a “previous life within this life”) traveled extensively as a singer and musician originally out of Buffalo, N.Y., before relocating to Virginia Beach to study and work at the A.R.E. in 1991. She is presently the ARE Headquarters Conferences Facilitator as well as a popular speaker on Edgar Cayce’s concepts of Reincarnation and Dreams and has been featured on various nationally syndicated radio shows as well as ARE’s own Reflections radio show.   Her personal experiences as a mother as well as a Play Therapist working with children with autistic spectrum and emotional issues led to her highly acclaimed article in ARE’s Venture Inward magazine (Mar 2009 issue) entitled:  “Out of the Mouths of Babes:  Children Who Remember Past Lives.”
